Up-and-coming karting driver Gianluca Dingli, of BRM Virtu Ferries Racing Team, had a very busy weekend in Melilli, Sicily where he participated in a Rotax Max Class race from the regional championship. In the qualifying session, held on a wet Sunday morning, Dingli was ninth overall. In the pre-final race, Dingli delivered a fine performance charging up the field to fourth. In the final two laps, Dingli lost precious time after being pushed off track by another driver but the young Maltese recovered to finish sixth. In a statement, Dingli thanked all his sponsors and the fans who backed him during his racing weekend in Sicily.
